Simplicity and its path to healing.

Keep it simple. Stick to what you know, trust, and makes you feel safe. If that looks like a lot of time alone, missing your favorite events, over sleeping, under-eating, crying, comfy clothes , so be it. Say no, set boundaries, and do what you need, so you can free yourself from past storylines. That event, person or job will come back bigger and brighter! Trust the process, we’re all just human at the end of the day (except Leia, she be like #babyyoda or some shiiiiz 😉)!

P.S. you must do the work, you cannot blame others for your trauma. You can not allow the behavior, but have compassion for others story. We all can only control ourselves, so as cheesy 🧀 as it sounds “ be the mofo change you want to see in the world”.

“Move at turtle speed”

Have you ever noticed things, opportunities, and people come in and out of your life depending on how you are doing personally?

It’s taken some practice for me - to not attach to ideas, outcomes, people and experiences, because it wasn’t matching my energetic frequency. Often times, I needed to be working on my personal and emotional well-being. When I take the time to do so, all the things I wanted and more come flying back into my life.

So the moral of the story is, never feel like you’re missing out, failing, or being weak for working on yourself. Don’t. I promise if you surrender to helping yourself, everything else comes back better, brighter, more awesome and you’re reminded that joy and miracles are always amongst us! Life can be challenging, but our true character is shown by how we respond.

Fun vegan eats from last year. Being creative in t

Fun vegan eats from last year. Being creative in the kitchen is one of my favorite hobbies. If it’s an ideal situation I would be in a kitchen with local fruits and vegetables. I achieved that goal at the beginning of last year. I was eating almost only local fruits and vegetables from the land and because of that I made almost no trash (meaning landfill, recyclables, and compost) compost was my biggest waste. Anyone who knows me well, knows this is important to me. (My social media was hacked and I lost a lot of content about that when my account was deleted.) With the infrastructure of the American food system, it’s almost impossible to live by my dream standard. I often give myself a hard time of my consumerism contribution. The end of the past year wasn’t as awesome in reducing my trash because I didn’t have the energy to focus on my passion. I only had energy to be there for myself. With all that being said I’m finally feeling myself again and wanted to share some fun vegan eats as inspiration for more creative kitchen soirées! Also, be kind to yourself on the journey of consciousness. Be grateful for the earth and slowing down always brings me a positive vibration of where the earth is at and the role us humans have been unconsciously taking for granted. Thank you Mother Earth and all you provide for so many!

To pay it forward I added an option to donate to @sustainablecoastlineshawaii a wonderful non-profit dedicated to keeping the shores of the Hawaiian Islands trash free and protected. Some other amazing organizations I came across on Maui for the plastic-free journey include @zerowastehale (plastic free household goods) @mokuroots (restaurant that makes no trash) @sustainablyaimee @alisonsadventures @plasticfreemermaid (plastic free education) @huizerohawaii (created initiative for reusable tins at takeout locations) *** all of these are great places to join the movement or begin your sustainable consumerism journey! 🌱

We often fear things we don’t understand. Our mind puts us in a protective state. To follow your heart, invest ourselves in understanding the truth, rather than judging… you can truly find beauty in life.

In 2018 I feared the ocean. The ocean was unknown for me, because I grew up on a mountain and the closest thing to the ocean was a marvelous lake. I’ve always loved swimming, but I was intimidated by the creatures beneath the ocean. Scuba diving was an incredible introduction to ocean life. I quickly found the ocean was one of my favorite places to be. The life that exists underneath the waves is truly my favorite part. This scuba dive was one of the most memorable, because I was introduced to many, many sharks at once. Poor sharks are one of the most misunderstood beings in the ocean, perhaps the world. They do not crave humans, more humans don’t understand THEIR environment. We must remember it’s their home we’re entering. Some fun facts about safe ocean swims include being able to see your surroundings (don’t swim in murky water), bring a sense of respect when entering this magical world, and try not to resort to fear, because once you understand the ocean, you realize it’s the most sacred place on the planet. 🌊 🦈
